* Bringing Joy Christmas Project *

*December 23rd 2009 was indeed a joyful day for thirty-eight needy families residing in and around Kuching.
Ixora Lions led by President Julie Chong and Director Ln Jodie Sim, Organizing Chairperson of the Christmas project visited families to deliver supply of food rations. In the spirit of Christmas Cheer, the Lions gave each family a Christmas garland and a Christmas card.
All in all, 38 families benefited from this Christmas project. Some came to the St Joseph's Parish Centre to collect the food rations. It was a meaningful project; in tandem with the International President's theme/goal, "Move To Grow In Humanitarian Services" and to fulfil the District Governor's goal for club "To Reach Out To The Community In Need".
A vote of thanks to all sponsors and Ixora Lions for their donations in cash and kind; the Society of St. Vincent de Paul for identifying the families and guiding the Lions to the houses to deliver the food rations.
Finally,
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world.
Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
-Margaret Mead-
