~ Ixorian Lions celebrated the club's eighth anniversary at the VIP Lounge of The Banquet on Friday 7th May. It was well attended by not only the Board and members but also Presidents and Lions from other clubs of Region 1. As usual, Friends of Lions as well as the Faculty Advisor and Leos of SMK Arang Road were present.
~ Lion Dignitaries included Guest of Honour ID Ellis Suriyati, Region 1 Chairman Eric Tan, Zone 1 Chairperson Peter Ong, Zone 2 Chairperson Chai Si Kar and spouse President Shanty Elizabeth Rawi and Zone 3 Chairperson Robin Kho.
Highlights of the evening included
> A slide presentation of the club activities for the year by Ln Jodie Sim
> the cutting of the Anniversary cake
> the re-enactment of the award presentation president by Zone 2 Chairperson Chai Si Kar.
> the presentation of the International President's Certificate of Appreciation by ID Ellis Suriyati to President Julie Chong, PP Yeo Kim Teck, PP Cynthia Maria Zehnder and President Alexander Lao of Lions Club Of Kuching North.
~ It was truly a fun filled evening. Guests were held in stitches by the antics of Emcee PP Judy Kho. PP Terence Chuo organized a singing competition, where prizes were 'priceless' and 'limited edition' mugs and teacups. Ln Jessica of Lions Club of Bau won first placing followed by President Dalton Teng of Lions Club of Kuching Allamanda and Ln Charles Locklin also of Lions Club of Bau respectively.
